The therapy treatment of Cerebral Palsy can be painful and boring, resulting in a lack of compliance. How can we rethink this to improve compliance using playful interventions?

Pinchphone is an exertoy that introduces playful and sensorial elements to the pinch exercise performed by kids affected by Cerebral Palsy. It tries to transform the boring routine of picking beans by adding audio, color, sensorial, and cognitive aspects into a toy.

I have been working on this toy over the last 6 years to bring this to more people.

In 2025, I made a new 3D printed version of this which can be made on smaller bamboo 3D printers. The new version was presented at Open Hardware Summit 2025 in Edinburgh.
